Newbridge Gospel Choir

| April 24th, 2012

The following article appeared in the local Newbridge Newspaper:

“Fear not if you think you can’t sing, because the newly formed Gospel Choir in Newbridge will welcome you with open arms as they have a spot for everyone. That is according to Gospel singer Rosaleen Barry, leader of the group, who said,

‘I have been singing Gospel for twelve years now. I set this group up with Sr. Kate and Sr. Catherine of the Holy Family Convent. We have fifty five members and our music director is Lisa Nagle. We don’t audition and we never say no to anybody – we have a place for every person and everybody is very welcome. I was very surprised at the amount of interest, but it is very uplifting and I can see how people would love that type of music’.”

The group are facilitated by Newbridge Parish, and rehersals are held in the Holy Family Convent every Monday night at 7.30 p.m.

A special word of congratulations to Sr. Roseanne, who figures prominently in the group photograph. Beir bua’s beannacht!
