"There was a Rich Man"
Luke 16 : 19
The Rich Man in the parable is not condemned for dressing elegantly, and dining sumptuously, neither does he maltreat or abuse the poor man, Lazarus. The rich man is judged for his lack of concern for the poor man lying at his door. He completely ignores the poor man’s plight. The parable drives home the point that wealth carries with it a great responsibility. It is not something to be used only for oneself. Rather it should be used mostly to assist the needy, and to gain wealth in God’s Kingdom.
Prayer
Lord, grant us the faith to believe in your will to help us, and to belong to your family of the poor and needy. Amen.
