"She will give birth to a son and you must name him Jesus."
Joseph is appointed the foster-father of Jesus. Up to the moment Joseph had this angelic visitation he was wondering what was the best line of action. He prayed and prayed but an angel came in the darkness of the night and filled him in as to how Mary became pregnant. He being a faithful believer did not hesitate to do what he was told. According to the Jewish tradition he too like Zachary was given the privilege of naming the Child.
Prayer
Joseph, foster father of Jesus, you followed God's plan for you. Help me when things get tough to place my life before the Lord to find the solution. Be with me as I too get to know Jesus and obtain for me the grace of a blameless life. As psalm 15 so eloquently states what a blameless life, like yours entails. Amen
