"Zechariah, do not be afraid your prayer has been heard."

Throughout their marriage Elizabeth and Zechariah had longed for a child but they never gave up praying for that intention. In his special hour in the Temple an angel visits him but he is disturbed at getting the news that Elizabeth will have a son and he must call him John.
What a joyful moment for the man who for so long wanted a son. It is all too much for him. Zachariah asks for a sign and he is told he will be dumb till the baby is born. So now he cannnot go out and tell the people that Gabriel appeared to him and gave him great news. At that moment he must have been bursting to shout it out but no he could not.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, we know that every prayer whether vocalised or not makes its way to you. Give us a strong faith in your love for us as we struggle especially with the unexpected in our lives. Take away the fear we have of ourselves. Amen
