"I am the handmaid of the Lord."

Here again we find an angel. This time he is visiting a young virgin in Nazareth. The message is she is to become the mother of Jesus. She too is taken aback and asks how come she is to be a mother. She listens carefully to the angel who explains alll things are possible to God. She does not ask for a sign but the angel gives her one. Her elderly cousin is also going to have a baby.
Prayer
Mary, Mother of Jesus give us the openness and availability you had for God from a young age. Help us to whoeheartedly accept you as Mother of God. May we follow in your footsteps. Holy Mary, Mother of God pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen
