"‘’If someone comes to them from the dead, they will repent.’’"
LUKE 8 : 30
Here Jesus tells the parable of the rich man and the poor beggar, Lazarus. He contrasts their style of life whilst they were alive. One had everything , the other nothing except what he begged for at the gate of the rich man. From the story it is evident that the rich man knew Lazarus as a poor beggar. Yet in death their roles are reversed . The rich man begs Abraham for the help of the beggar.
Prayer
Jesus, thank you for reminding us to be generous to the poor. We do not need more than your word and example. Teach us to live out the simple truths of our faith and not to be always on the look out for the extraordinary. Give us a deep faith in your words. Amen
