Prayer of the Day
Daily Prayer
March 14th, 2015
""Bless the Lord, my soul, and remember all his kindnesses; for he pardons all my faults.""
Hosea 5 : 15

To-day’s reading is also from Hosea on the same theme as yesterday. “The Lord says this, ‘They will search for me in their misery; come let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us.”
The Gospel is about the Pharisee and the Publican going up to the Temple to pray. The Pharisee prays; “Thank you God.” And he spelt out all his good deeds and he thought he was better than this publican. Jesus however, describes the tax collector’s prayer – “God be merciful to me a sinner.” And he said; ‘I tell you this man went home again at rights with God; the other did not.”
“For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”
Prayer
May the holy gifts we receive renew our lives. Help us to worship you in truth, through Christ our Lord. Amen
