Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary

“In the sixth month the Angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth,  to a virgin betrothed to Joseph.  The Virgin’s name was Mary.  He said to her……” (Luke 1 : 26 – 38)

Every time we recite the “Hail Mary” we are repeating joyfully and thankfully the words of Angel Gabriel,  God’s messenger to the Blessed Virgin Mary.  Every time we say those words,  we welcome God’s plan for our redemption with humility.  The Angel assured “the Lord is with you” that is,  with Mary,  with us and with the whole human race.

Today’s celebration urges us all to meditate on the mysteries of Christ,  following the example of the Blessed Virgin Mary,  who was in a special manner associated with the Incarnation,  Passion and glorious Resurrection of the Son of God.
