Prayer of the Day
Feast of St. Angela Merici, Foundress of the Ursuline Sisters
January 27th, 2015
It happened on one occasion that the Mother, brothers and sisters of Jesus came looking for him. Perhaps he had not been home for some time and like any Mother, Mary would be anxious about his well-being. However, Jesus uses the occasion to point out that the Kingdom of God belongs to everyone. And all are welcome in God’s eternal home. All God’s creatures were created by God. All are equally loved by him. He wants us all to be saved and live with Him forever. God is the Good Shepherd ever following his lost sheep. He will never rest till all of us are united with Him forever. If only we could understand God’s eternal, everlasting love for us, how different our lives would be. Nobody, nothing can ever come between us and God unless we will it ourselves. God in Christ has given us everything. Let us thank Him for the wonderful love given to us especially in the gift of Himself in the Eucharist. Eucharist means thanksgiving. Let us love our neighbour as ourselves for he or she is God’s image also.
