Prayer of the Day
Feast of St. Catherine of Siena
April 29th, 2016
To Jesus the theme of love and friendship is of the utmost importance. Down the centuries the friendship of Jesus was also very important to the Saints, who lived their lives with Jesus their friend. They did everything Jesus requested of them. They lived in His love at all times. Let us live by their example as they live in the example of Jesus.
Today is the feast of St. Catherine of Siena, 1347 – 1380, who was a humble and dauntless Dominican tertiary who brought peace to her native Siena, to Italy, and to fourteenth century Europe. She was proclaimed Doctor of the Church 1970 and Patron of Europe in 2000.
Lord Jesus, remind us that we are not alone. You are the King of our hearts and lives and we beg of you to give us the strength to always follow your commandment of love in every situation of our lives. We are weak. Jesus be with us and give us a better understanding of your love. Amen
