Prayer of the Day
Feast of St. Charles Borromeo, BishopNovember 4th, 2015
Jesus proclaims blessedness for the poor – the poor in spirit, the humble, those who put all their trust in God. The first four Beatitudes sing the joy of those open to God in trust and love. The other beatitudes are mostly orientated toward our way of living. Blessed are the pure of heart… the peace-makers, those who, like God, are able to bring peace. Blessed are those who are persecuted in the cause of right: theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
Draw me, O God, into poverty of spirit as I journey to my heavenly home. In gentleness let me open my heart to whatever your goodness has planned for me. Amen
