""I am about to return to him who sent me. Give thanks to God."" Tobit 12 : 20

Today the story continues (Tobit 12 : 1 – 20)  “Tobit calls his son Tobias and tells him to pay his companion traveller over and above the payment agreed upon.  Tobias does his father’s bidding, but surprise awaits them when Raphael reveals who he is to them after telling them what they must do to thank God for all the special favours and blessings they have received.  It is right to keep the secret of a king,  yet right too to reveal in worthy fashion the works of God.   I am Raphael,  one of the seven Angels,  who stand ever ready to enter the presence of the Glory of the Lord.  Now bless the Lord on earth and give thanks to God.  I am about to return to him above who sent me.”

To sum up the Hebrew song portrays the love and faithfulness of God for his people; “Yahweh’s love will last forever.  His faithfulness to the end of time.  Yahweh is a loving God.  Yahweh the faithful one.”

God, loving, forgiving and faithful, keep us in your everlasting love. Amen
