September 30th, 2014
"“Lord, do you want us to call down fire from heaven to burn them up.”" Luke 9 : 54

Jesus is taking the road to Jerusalem but the people of a Samaritan village refuse him hospitality because he is on his way to Jerusalem. James and John, loyal followers of Jesus are furious with the villagers and think nothing of using their miraculous power to call down fire from heaven to burn these people up. They are rebuked and Jesus changes his route.

Today is the Feast of St. Jerome, 347 – 420,  who translated the Bible into Latin,  known as the Vulgate.  He also wrote commentaries on Scripture.  He is Patron of librarians.

Prayer Jesus in our lives we get annoyed and frustrated but let us keep our eyes on you, with no revenge or desire for retaliation let us choose your way and move on with love for one another. Amen
