Prayer of the Day

Feast of St. Kilian, Bishop & Martyr

July 8th, 2017
St. Kilian

“Let us bless the hand of God, whether it sends us trials or favours.”  (Ven. P. B. Noailles)

St. Kilian along with eleven companions left Ireland and became known as the apostle of Thuringia and eastern Franconia.  He was put to death in 689.  There is a very strong devotion to him in Wurzburg,  where his remains lie,  and also throughout the Bavarian countryside.
