Prayer of the Day
Feast of St. Pius X, PopeAugust 21st, 2014
In the parable of the wedding feast there are two sets of guests. Those who are invited first give excuses to refuse the King’s offer. Those who are invited later make it to the wedding feast, but still have to be judged worthy. It is unthinkable that they would refuse God’s invitation. But once the move into God’s atmosphere they have to behave according to God’s plan. Being one of God’s chosen people does not guarantee a seat in the coming Kingdom. One must first answer God’s call. One who chooses salvation must fulfil His demands. One who has no wedding garment represents those who have no good deed to offer before God, who have not amended properly to God’s call.
