Prayer of the Day

Feast of St. Thérèse of Lisieux

October 1st, 2014
""The least among you all is the one who is the greatest."" Luke 9 : 48

To prove his point here Jesus takes a little child as the model of littleness and greatness. Today is the Feast of Thérèse of Lisieux who took these words of Jesus to heart and spent her life in childish simplicity, doing small things with great love. She showed us the little Way, which is available to us all. She died at the Carmel in Lisieux on 30th September 1897.   She was declared a doctor of the Church by Pope John Paul II in 1997.  She is Patron of missions,  florists,  aviators and France.

Prayer Jesus, give us an understanding of your words so that we too may reach the standard of littleness required for the kingdom of God. Let all the little things we do for love of you, wing their way to you. Amen
