(Psalm 121)

“I rejoiced when I heard them say;

‘Let us go to God’s house.’

And now our feet are standing

within your gates, O Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is built as a city

strongly compact.

It is there that the tribes, go up,

the tribes of the Lord.

For Israel’s law it is,

There to praise, the Lord’s name.

There were set the thrones of judgement

of the house of David.”

Psalm of trust and blessing, God’s protection is ever present. The pilgrim is very close to this as expressed entering God’s dwelling place. Now our feet are standing within your gates, O Jerusalem. For Israel’s law it is there to praise the Lord. Jerusalem is built as a city strongly compact walls, gates, battlements. There is the need to pray for peace. Thanksgiving, the awareness, the Divine is very close.

Prayer Our prayer is to enter the presence of the Divine with joy. In Jesus’ name we pray with the psalmist, ‘Let us go to God’s house.’ Amen
