Prayer of the Day

First Week of Advent

December 5th, 2015
"He summoned the twelve disciples giving them power and authority to drive out and cure all kinds of diseases and all kinds of illnesses. " Matthew 10 : 6

Here the signs of the Kingdom were present whenever the Apostles ministered in Jesus’ name. The invalids, the dis-possessed and the needy were all cured of their illnesses, and made whole again. Jesus also calls us today, to fidelity to him in all the circumstances of our lives, to trust him with our problems and pains,  our set-backs  and discouragements. Just as he summoned the twelve so he will call us to be part of his team  to “Go Forward “ into the future with him as our leader.

As we reflect at the end of our first Advent week, let us ask that we may be more faithful in prayer, more aware of the Lord’s presence in our lives and in the lives of others, and more co-operative with the Holy Spirit. Amen
