Prayer of the Day
Fourth Week of Advent – Christmas Eve
December 24th, 2015
“I have made a covenant with my people. I have sworn to David my servant, I will establish your dynasty forever and set up your throne thro’ all ages.” (2 Samuel 7 : 1 – 16) Reading these words we can enumerate the times how this covenant has been fulfilled before and since the birth of Jesus. “We rejoice that we too have seen Jesus’ day.” Hope sings it’s triumph thro’ all God’s blessings and sadness flees away. Count your blessings and come to realize how our hopes are fulfilled every day with life in the reality of the Eucharist. Pray the canticle of the Benedictus from Luke’s Gospel (1 : 67 – 79)
Key of David who opens the gates of the eternal Kingdom come to liberate from prison the captives who live in darkness and in the shadow of death. We pray for ourselves and renewal in our lives with Christ as our centre and inner strength. Amen
