Prayer of the Day

Holy Week

“Judas Iscariot went to the chief priests and said; ‘What will you give me if I betray Him to you?’  They paid him thirty pieces of silver. And from that moment he began to look for an opportunity to betray Him.” (Matthew 26 : 14)

To trust another is to share a precious piece of one’s soul hoping that what is entrusted will be treasured safely.  Since every betrayal is a self betrayal,  the betrayer undergoes double pain.  For reconciliation after the betrayal,  at least one of the two has to be noble hearted,  like Jesus,  to look with tender love at the other,  allowing them the chance to be healed by mercy and compassion, which Jesus always does.
