Prayer of the Day

Second Week of Easter – Feast of St. Mark, Evangelist

April 25th, 2017
St Mark

“So then the Lord Jesus,  after He had spoken to them,  was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and proclaimed the Good News everywhere,  while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by the signs that accompanied it.” (Mark 16 : 19)

St. Mark was closely connected with the preaching of Saints Peter,  Paul and Barnabas.  His Gospel was probably written at Rome when he was with Paul,  and is viewed as representing St. Peter’s approach to the preaching of the Good News.  His symbol is a winged lion.
