Prayer of the Day
Twenty Second Sunday of the YearAugust 28th, 2016
In the Parable of the Ten Bridesmaids, the foolish ones when taking their lamps brought no oil with them, but the wise brought flasks of oil with their lamps. The lighted lamps of the ten virgins may well be a metaphor for our faith. Jesus calls us to persevere to the end. We must nourish our life of faith by good deeds, by being involved in missionary work and living exemplary good lives, and in order to attain our salvation we must fight for it, strive for it and make sacrifices for it.
Lord, sustain faith, humility within us and make us ever loyal to Christ in our thoughts, words, actions throughout our lives. Amen
