Short excerpts from the stories of Priest Associates:
Group of priests

"As a dedicated group of diocesan priests, we have discovered a call within a call and have opted to live the spirituality of the Holy Family… Our warm invitation is for more committed diocesan priests to join us and live the family face of the Church in the soil of Sri Lanka, so that 'the world may believe that Jesus Christ is the Saviour sent by the heavenly Father.'(Jn 17:21)"
Fr Benet Shantha

"I decided to be a Holy Family Priest Associate, because of my acceptance and complete trust in God, and the values of family spirit and communion. These were also the source of strength and inspiration of our Good Father, Pierre Bienvenu Noailles. … Jesus founded the Church to announce to the whole human race that it is called to become the Family of God, witnessing, participating and being a leaven for the transformation of the world…. My belief is that being a Priest Associate will help me in my journey through life, serving in the Lord's vineyard. To realise the goal of a new way of being Church also requires me to recognise the new way of being priest as one who adopts Jesus' example of servant leadership. It will also undoubtedly strengthen my resolve in the task of building the Christian Community…."
Fr Gregory Jayantha

On witnessing the plight of refugees, Fr Jude reflects: "As a Priest Associate, I feel it is my paramount duty to thank and praise the Lord for the various gifts that he has given me. Man and woman are made in the divine image. So, whether these refugees are Sinhalese or Tamils, educated or uneducated, right or wrong, they are all children of God. What I felt was that the divine image was being destroyed to a great extent in them… For the most part, the sorrow and pain of others did not affect me. So I did not feel for them. When I go through hardships now, I begin to feel the unending pain of innocent people…."
Fr Jude Peries

"I attribute the reason I became a Holy Family Priest Associate to the fact that I was taught my first catechism by Holy Family Sisters. During a crisis period of mine as a Deacon, I was helped by the guidance and prayers of the Sisters…"
Fr Terrance Kannangara

"The Holy Family of Nazareth was a small basic community, which accepted and responded to the Word of God. As a priest I have to take care of and nurture every family in the parish. My commitment as a Holy Family Priest Associate inspires me in this important work."
Fr Vincent Jayarasa

"In my priestly ministry as a Priest Associate of the Holy Family, the Spirituality of the Holy Family has enriched my life. Awareness of belonging to a Family that supports me by prayer and brotherly/sisterly concern has helped me to be more open in my relationships with everyone. Availability to carry out the will of God has motivated me to be alert to my obligations, and to the needs of all those who come to me."
Fr Emmanuel Devarajah

"By committing myself as an Associate of the Holy Family, I place myself in a particular way under the protection of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. I want to see happy and holy families in our diocese. I would like to see all families live like the Holy Family of Nazareth, the true model of every family, and a model for all married people."
Fr Philip Anthony
