Apostolic Sisters
“Dispersed throughout the world, and appearing in one form or another in all the byways trodden by poor travellers, they are like the flower of the desert which grows on the edge of the abyss, at the foot of ruins and tombs.” (Pierre Bienvenu Noailles)
This is how, in the language of the 19th century, Fr. Noailles described the Sisters of the Holy Family engaged in active ministry. Today they live in communities, large or small, according to their work. The community is united around the Eucharist, the shared Word, prayer in common.
Scattered throughout the world on four continents, Holy Family Sisters may be found in cities, towns, country villages, in shantytowns or slums, in the middle of the bush, From everywhere, wherever the needs of the Church and society call them. Whatever their age or state of health, the Sisters continue to share the mission, of Christ who went about doing good.
