"How happy are the poor in spirit for theirs is the Kingdom of God.

Today’s Gospel reading reflects the call of Jesus to all the would-be members of His Kingdom. It forms the bulk of Matthew’s teaching from Jesus given during the Sermon on the Mount. (Mt. Ch. 5-7). In it Jesus points the way to our living a true Christian life and becoming his genuine followers. In poverty of spirit we try to have the right attitude, a “ Be-attitude”, to life and to others. We remember today all who followed Jesus in their lives here , and now enjoy His company in Heaven.
Prayer
Teach us Lord to be your true followers and to imitate you in spirit. Lord, hear us. Amen
